Description
Ideal for COB LED Strip Lighting
This aluminium profile works particularly well with COB LED tape. COB strip uses a high density of LEDs to produce a smoother and more continuous line of light than many traditional LED strips.
Combining COB tape with an aluminium channel and opal diffuser creates a refined lighting effect suitable for architectural, decorative and task-lighting installations.
The profile has an internal channel width of approximately 12.4mm. Check that the width of your chosen LED tape, soldered connections and connectors will fit inside the channel before installation.

Installation Guidance
- Measure the installation area and calculate the number of 2 metre profile lengths required.
- Confirm that the LED strip and any connectors will fit inside the approximately 12.4mm-wide internal channel.
- Cut the aluminium profile and opal diffuser to the required size using suitable tools.
- Secure the aluminium channel to a clean, flat and structurally suitable surface using an appropriate installation method.
- Clean the inside of the profile before applying the self-adhesive LED strip.
- Install the LED strip evenly without twisting, overlapping or sharply bending the tape.
- Connect the LED strip to a correctly rated compatible power supply and controller where required.
- Test the lighting before fitting the opal diffuser and completing the installation.

What are the profile dimensions?
Each profile is approximately 2000mm long, 17.4mm wide and 7mm high. The internal channel width is approximately 12.4mm.
What width LED tape will fit inside the profile?
The internal channel is approximately 12.4mm wide. LED tape up to approximately 12mm wide should generally fit, but customers must check the precise tape, solder joints and connector dimensions before ordering.
What is included with each aluminium profile?
Each 2 metre aluminium profile is supplied complete with an opal diffuser cover. LED strip, drivers, controllers, wiring and connectors are not included unless expressly stated.
Are longer variations supplied as one continuous length?
No. All variations are supplied as separate 2 metre lengths. For example, the 10 metre option contains five individual 2 metre profiles.
Can the aluminium profile and diffuser be cut?
Yes. Both the aluminium channel and opal diffuser can be cut to the required length using appropriate tools.
Is this suitable for COB LED strip?
Yes, provided the width of the COB tape and any connected components are compatible with the approximately 12.4mm internal channel width.
Does the opal diffuser remove visible LED dots?
The finished result depends on the LED density, profile depth and distance between the LEDs and diffuser. High-density COB LED tape generally provides the smoothest and most continuous line of light.
Does aluminium help cool the LED strip?
Aluminium can help transfer heat away from the LED tape. A correctly rated strip, power supply and suitable installation are still essential.
Can the profiles be installed end-to-end?
Yes. Multiple 2 metre profiles can be carefully aligned end-to-end for longer lighting runs and larger projects.
