Recessed Aluminium LED Profile with Milky Diffuser – 2 Metre Lengths
Create a clean, professional and flush-fitted LED strip lighting installation with this recessed aluminium LED profile. Designed to be installed into routed channels, furniture, cabinets, shelving and architectural surfaces, the profile securely houses compatible LED tape while producing a neat, integrated finish.
Each profile is supplied in a 2 metre length with a milky diffuser. The diffuser helps soften the visible light from the LED strip, protects the tape from dust and light contact, and gives the completed installation a more refined appearance.
Available as a variation listing in total lengths from 2 metres to 100 metres, making it suitable for individual domestic installations, complete room projects, retail fit-outs and larger commercial lighting schemes.
Why Use an Aluminium Profile with LED Strip Lighting?
Installing LED tape inside an aluminium channel produces a more professional result than attaching exposed strip directly to a surface. The profile provides a straight installation line, supports the LED tape and helps protect it from accidental contact.
Aluminium also helps transfer heat away from the LED strip. Proper heat management can support more stable LED performance, particularly where the tape is operated for extended periods. The recessed design allows the profile to sit flush within the mounting surface, leaving only the diffuser and slim outer flanges visible.

Installation Guidance
- Measure and mark the required mounting position.
- Create a straight recessed channel suitable for the profile dimensions.
- Cut the aluminium profile and diffuser to the required length using suitable tools.
- Clean the internal surface before applying the self-adhesive LED tape.
- Install and electrically connect the LED strip to a compatible power supply and controller where required.
- Secure the profile into the routed recess.
- Fit the milky diffuser after the LED strip has been tested.
Important: Verify the recess, LED tape width, cable route and all measurements before cutting or installing. Electrical connections should be completed by a suitably competent person in accordance with applicable installation requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the LED strip included?
No. This listing is for the recessed aluminium profile and milky diffuser unless the selected product option specifically states otherwise. Compatible COB LED strip lights can be purchased separately from Manningham Lighting & Electrical.
Does the profile come in one continuous length?
Each profile is 2 metres long. For example, the 10M variation contains five separate 2M lengths, while the 100M variation contains fifty separate 2M lengths.
What width of LED strip will fit inside the channel?
The internal channel is approximately 12.4mm wide. Always check the actual width of your LED tape, connectors and soldered joints before ordering and installation.
Can the aluminium profile be cut?
Yes. The aluminium channel and diffuser can be cut to the required length using appropriate cutting equipment. Measure carefully and remove any sharp edges before fitting.
Is this a surface-mounted or recessed profile?
This is a recessed profile. It is designed to sit inside a routed or prepared channel so that the diffuser is positioned close to flush with the surrounding surface.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
The profile is rated IP20 and is intended for dry indoor environments. It should not be treated as a waterproof enclosure. Any bathroom or outdoor installation must use suitably rated equipment selected for the specific location.
Why is COB LED tape recommended?
COB LED tape provides a closely packed, continuous-looking line of light. When combined with the supplied milky diffuser, it can create a smooth and professional lighting effect in cabinets, furniture, shelving and recessed architectural details.
What else is required to complete an LED strip installation?
A typical installation requires compatible LED tape, a correctly sized LED power supply, cable and suitable connection accessories. RGB tape also requires a compatible RGB controller. The exact equipment depends on the voltage, wattage, total tape length and required control method.
