RGB COB Strip Setup (Colour Changing)

To run RGB COB strip, you will typically need:

  • RGB COB 25m Roll – the LED strip
  • 24V RGB Wall Controller – to change colours and modes
  • 24V Power Supply – choose the correct wattage for your run
  • RGB Connector Pack – optional for cutting, extending, or reconnecting strip

Single Colour COB Setup (3000K / 6500K)

For Single Colour COB strip, the essentials are simple:

  • Single Colour COB 25m Roll – choose 3000K Warm White or 6500K Daylight
  • 24V Power Supply – choose the correct wattage

Optional: A Single Colour Wall Controller is recommended if:

  • You need dimming control
  • Your power supply is in a hard-to-reach place and you want easy ON/OFF control
Connector Packs Explained

Connector packs are ideal for neat, solder-free installations when you need to join, extend, or route strip around corners.

  • Inline Connector (Single Colour / RGB) – joins strip to strip in a straight line after cutting, or reconnects separated sections
  • L Corner Connector (Single Colour ONLY) – turns strip around a 90° corner neatly
  • Strip-to-Wire Connector (Single Colour / RGB) – connects strip to cable/wire for bridging gaps, joining to a controller, or creating a wired jump between strip sections

How to Work Out the Correct Transformer / Power Supply

Use this formula:

Watts per metre × total metres = total wattage required

Example: 20M RGB COB LED Strip

  • RGB strip wattage: 14W per metre
  • Strip length: 20 metres
  • Calculation: 14W × 20 = 280W

Minimum required: 280W

We always recommend choosing a slightly higher wattage power supply than the minimum required. This helps keep both the power supply and the LED strip cooler during operation, which can help improve reliability and lifespan.

Recommended supply for the above example: 24V 400W Power Supply

Example: 20M Single Colour COB LED Strip

  • Single Colour strip wattage: 11W per metre
  • Strip length: 20 metres
  • Calculation: 11W × 20 = 220W

For this setup, choose a suitable 24V power supply with headroom for cooler, more reliable performance.
